Stakeholder Surveys

Listening and Responding to Feedback

Our vision is for this school to be a centre of excellence at the heart of the wider community; where the natural curiosity and voice of each individual is valued, nurtured and encouraged to flourish in a safe, secure, happy and stimulating environment enabling everyone to develop high self esteem and to reach their full potential.

As a school we place significant value on the strong relationships we have with all stakeholders. We believe through positive and collaborative relationships our school will continue to improve, providing opportunities for all of our children to be happy, enriched and achieve success.

Keeping Our Curriculum Under Review – Spring 2026

Our school curriculum comprises all learning, assessment and wider experiences that we provide for our children. Designing our own curriculum has enabled us to be innovative and creative in our approach, ensuring learning opportunities are relevant, authentic and driven by the Four Purposes.

Thank you for taking the time to complete our Curriculum Survey; all feedback and comments made by parents have been useful and informative. We have looked closely at the responses and will use these to inform our way forward in further refining our curriculum. Following analysis of the survey we will:

  • Revisit our Curriculum Principles to ensure the following elements are included: citizenship/community, emotional regulation and wellbeing, positive relationships and social skills.

  • Reshare our school Four Purposes characters and language with parent/carers in order to raise awareness and support learning conversations at home.

  • Arrange a World of Work event to promote links with business and industry in order to raise children’s awareness of careers and work related opportunities.

  • A Curriculum Exhibition will form part of the Learning Conversations during the summer term, in order to showcase a variety of aspects of the curriculum, including STEM.

Parental Survey - Spring 2025

Thank you for taking the time to complete the Spring 2025 parent/carer survey. The survey findings were overwhelmingly positive with nearly all children enjoying attending school, and feeling safe and nurtured in school. Nearly all parents agreed children are offered an interesting variety of learning experiences, and that school keeps parents well informed about their child’s progress. Nearly all parents believe school considers and responds well to feedback, and would recommend Glasllwch School to another parent/carer.

Your feedback and comments are used to inform school improvements. Actions being taken within school as a result of feedback we have received include:

  • A ‘Communication Methods’ poster was created with Community Forum and shared with all parents September 2025.

  • All key dates for 2025/26 were shared in a Welcome Newsletter in September 2025, are visible on the school website calendar, and signposted in weekly News Updates. School events were planned out ahead of time, and spaced out as much as possible.

  • During 2025/26, Number Tots maths sessions were held for all Nursery parents. Also, maths workshops were held for Rec-Y2, Y3/4 and Y5/6 parents to develop awareness of maths methods.

  • School have been working actively during 2025/26 to establish a Breakfast Club and consider after school club options.

  • School Governors are updating the school Travel Plan during 2025/26.

  • PTA raised money for a playground shelter, with more fundraising underway for another shelter and additional seating.

Keeping Our Curriculum Under Review – Summer 2023

Over recent years, we have been developing our ‘school curriculum’ in line with the requirements of Curriculum for Wales. Our school curriculum comprises all learning, assessment and wider experiences that we provide for our children. Designing our own curriculum has enabled us to be innovative and creative in our approach, ensuring learning opportunities are relevant, authentic and driven by the Four Purposes; we welcome your involvement in continuing to develop and review our curriculum.

A BIG thank you to everyone who took the time to attend our Curriculum Workshop and also complete our curriculum survey; all feedback and comments made by parents have been useful and informative. We really are proud of our school and all our children.

We have looked closely at the responses and will use these to inform our way forward in further developing and designing our curriculum. Following analysis of the survey we intend to:

  • Continue promoting the Four Purposes through a variety of communication channels. If you would like a parent information leaflet, these are available from the school reception area.

  • Review our Curriculum Principles to ensure the suggestions made by parents/carers are reflected in the wording.

  • Add business and community links suggested by parents to our list of authentic learning opportunities so they can be built into curriculum projects.

  • Continue to ensure the children are able to influence curriculum projects and how they engage in learning

  • Further develop opportunities for parents to be involved in their children’s learning through: sharing individual targets, holding class Curriculum Celebrations, updating curriculum web pages, etc.

Parental Survey – Spring 2024

Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey. We value the partnership we have between home and school; it is vital if children are to flourish and reach their true potential. All feedback and comments made by parents have been useful and informative. We really are proud of our school and all our children.

The feedback from the Parental Survey that was carried out in the Spring Term of 2024 was overwhelmingly positive, however as a school we continue to strive to be ‘a centre of excellence in the wider community’ and therefore continue to make school improvements. Actions being taken within school as a result of the feedback we received include:

  • Creation of our Community Forum to ensure parents/carers and community members are involved in continually reviewing and improving school policy and practice.

  • Review and clarification of communication methods used to share information with parents and carers.

  • Reintroduction of emotional literacy support through training of an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant within school.

  • Continued sharing of learning updates through Seesaw and Twitter/X.

  • Further development of outside learning areas within the school grounds.

As a school community we continue to value the opinions of all pupils, parents, staff and governors; always celebrating our success and striving for improvement.
