Absence Request Form

Dear Parent / Carer

Thank you for notifying us of your intention to take your child out of school and the reason.

I would like to remind you that parents do not have an automatic right to withdraw pupils for holidays during term time and every effort should be made to take your holidays during the 13 weeks the school is closed for holidays.

We are allowed to authorise up to 5 days over an academic year, any further days will be recorded as unauthorised.  If your child’s attendance drops below our target of 96% I will contact you to discuss this further.

Each lesson / day your child is absent from school has an impact on their overall achievement as they progress through school, therefore taking holidays during term time should only be in exceptional cases.
