News Update – Friday 15th November ‘24

Royal British Legion

Once again, this year we have supported the Poppy Appeal, raising money for the Royal British Legion. The Community Committee did a great job of selling poppies! Thank you everyone who supported this collection! Within school, the children have engaged in a variety of activities to support them in understanding why we mark Remembrance Day. We also held a whole school Remembrance Day assembly.

Children in Need

This year Children in Need was also organised by our Community Committee. All of the children came to school today wearing ‘spotty’ or Pudsey clothes and participated in Children in Need danceathon challenges. Thank you everyone who has donated to this very worthy cause! The link is still open if you would like to donate and haven’t already done so.

Thank you, Community Committee, for organising and supporting these charity events! Great job!

Year 1 Staffing Changes

We are looking forward to welcoming Mrs Glencross back to school on Monday 2nd December after her maternity leave. Mrs Glencross will be taking on the role of Year 1 classroom teacher alongside Mrs Zahr.  Mrs Glencross will be teaching Year 1 on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with Mrs Zahr continuing as Year 1 class teacher on a Thursday and Friday. Mrs Glencross and Mrs Zahr are both highly skilled practitioners who will work closely to ensure continuity in teaching and learning across each week.

Community Forum

A big thank you to all those who attended Community Forum this morning.  We would really love to see more faces at our future sessions!  We really value the feedback and input that families offer at the forum and we use this to inform practice and protocols at our school.  We are listening to feedback and will be trialling some new approaches with the forum moving forward.  Thank you for your continued support.
