Community Forum
A big thank you to the parents/carers who attended our Community Forum on Monday. This session provided an opportunity to discuss ‘The Cost of the School Day’ audit which we have carried out in order to support parents/carers with managing financial pressures. During the meeting Mrs Lane also shared some recent pupil wellbeing data, and discussed ways in which we can support parents/carers moving forward. As always, we value the feedback and contributions made through our Community Forum. Everyone is welcome so please do come along.
Upcoming Community Forum: Monday 15th June 3-4pm. A creche facility will be available.
Sporting Success
Under 8s Tennis Competition - Two teams of Year 3 and Year 4 children took part in an Under 8s Tennis Competition at NISV. The children enjoyed the day developing their tennis skills. Da iawn!
Newport Schools Rugby Spring Tournament - On Wednesday some of our Y5/6 rugby players took part in the Newport Schools Tournament. They played brilliantly, winning all games except one, resulting in the team coming second overall. Fantastic!
Challenge Shield Rugby Tournament - Yesterday our Y6 Rugby Team played in the Challenge Shield Tournament. The team won all 6 games, reaching the final! Da iawn! Unfortunately, we were narrowly beaten in the final, but the whole team were amazing, playing an exceptional standard of rugby in all matches – we are so proud of them!
A massive thank you to all the parents/carers who have supported us this week with transporting the children to and from these events.
Welsh Workshops for Parents and Carers
Criw Cymraeg have been busy in school preparing for the Reception to Year 2 Welsh Workshop ‘Siarad Cymraeg Gyda Fi’, taking place on Monday next week in the Year 2 classroom. The children are doing a brilliant job and are looking forward to supporting parents and carers with developing their Welsh language skills. Please do come along!
Breakfast Club
Following the valuable feedback gathered through our parental survey last academic year, we have been exploring the possibility of establishing a Breakfast Club to support our families. We are pleased to share that we are now in a position to launch a trial Breakfast Club for the second half of the Summer Term 2026. Please look out for a Breakfast Club email with more information next week.
Local Businesses
We are looking for local businesses who may be able to donate to our PTA charity, supporting us in raising money to build another shelter on the school playground. Donations towards the shelter can be made using the following link: https://gofund.me/4fe7e0ffa Please share the link with family, friends and local businesses who may like to support us. Diolch!
