Noisy Nativity
This week we welcomed our families to school to watch our Nursery Christmas performance of The Noisy Nativity. It was a pleasure to watch the children singing, dancing and speaking with such confidence! They were all amazing! What a fantastic start to our Christmas festivities. Bendigedig!
We are very much looking forward to our Reception to Year 2 Christmas Performances next week. Please remember your tickets for each performance!

Newport Schools Christmas Cup
On Wednesday of this week our Y5/6 Rugby Team took part in the Newport Schools Christmas Cup at Newport Velodrome. The team played brilliantly, winning 3 out of 4 games and scoring the most tries overall! Amazing team work and form. Da iawn pawb! We are very proud of you! A huge thank you to Mr Burgess for organising and taking the team to the tournament and to our parent helpers for driving! Diolch!
Christmas Dinner Day
Christmas dinner is on Wednesday 10th December. Christmas dinner must be ordered online via Parent Pay by Sunday 1st December. Please check ParentPay to ensure your child is booked in. The Cauliflower and Broccoli Cheese option on ParentPay is unavailable - the vegetarian option is now a Quorn Roast. The children can wear their Christmas jumpers on Christmas dinner day.
Online Safety
As a school, we are receiving an increasing number of online safety concerns from parents/pupils. The following link can be used to access a variety of e-safety information to support parents/carers: In the know - Hwb We would encourage all parents to access these useful guides which cover a wide range of games/apps, including Roblox. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind all parents the importance of checking security settings and monitoring devices, in order to keep children safe online.
Attendance
Attendance figures this year so far are as follows. Well done to Year 5 for having the highest attendance so far this academic year – da iawn! Our whole school attendance target for 2025/26 is 96% - we can only achieve this with your support!
Good attendance at school is vital if your child is to achieve his / her full potential. We monitor individual pupil attendance on a regular basis and will contact you if your child’s attendance dips below our target of 96%. All holidays should be taken during the school holidays and not in term time. Any planned absence from school must be requested in writing. Such requests will be considered on an individual basis.
It is vital that all children are in school and ready to learn by 9am. The school doors are open from 8.50am for the children to filter into classrooms and will close at 9am. The teachers start lessons promptly, as soon as the register has been called. Children arriving late are missing out on vital learning opportunities. Once again thank you for your continued support.
Charity Donations
A huge thank you to all those who gave to our recent charity donations. As a school community we raised £427 for Children in Need. Thank you as well for supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal- we are awaiting confirmation of how much we have raised, but the pots were very full and heavy! Thank you so much everyone!
Parking Reminder
Please, please DO NOT OBSTRUCT DRIVEWAYS, even if it means parking a little way away from school and walking your child the rest of the way. We continue to receive phone calls from local residents who are unable to leave/return to their property. Thank you.
