School News – Friday 7th March ‘25

7 Mar 2025
Welcome back to school after the half-term break. Time is flying by and we can hardly believe we are already at the beginning of March! It has been a busy and exciting week. These are some of the highlights…
St. Davids Day Eisteddfod
On Tuesday we held our St. David’s Day Eisteddfod. The children came to school in a variety of Welsh costumes and we celebrated with musical performances, stories, dancing, art work, singing and much more! We had a super afternoon! The children sparkled in their performances and the hall looked stunning, decorated with the children’s competition entries. Da iawn everyone! Also, it was lovely to see so many parents in school admiring the children’s creations. Diolch!
World Book Day
Yesterday we celebrated World Book Day in school. The children who dressed up as their favourite character from a book looked absolutely fantastic. We had some amazing costumes in school! The children enjoyed engaging in a variety of World Book Day activities and taking part in our Glasllwch Book Swap. Well done to everyone who took part and supported this event! Diolch!
Water Bottles
As a healthy school we encourage children to drink from their water bottles throughout the school day – this is proven to have a positive impact on children’s health and well-being. It is therefore very important that ALL children have a water bottle with them everyday! The children are not allowed squash or flavoured water in their bottles. Thank you for your support in this.
We also ask, in the interest of hygiene, that the children take their water bottles home each day so they can be washed ready for the next school day. Thank you.
Year 6 visit to the Royal Welsh Military Museum
This week Year 6 visited the Royal Welsh Military Museum in Brecon to take part in the ‘A Child’s War’ workshop. They were allowed to play with some real artefacts from the war, experience an air raid shelter in the garden of the museum and learn about an evacuee’s life in the Welsh countryside. Everyone was really well behaved and learned a lot. Da iawn pawb!
PTA Update
We are so grateful to our PTA committee for their ongoing hard work in organising and running events. This year the PTA have arranged a variety of events – these have been well supported and raised vital funds for our school.
