Noisy Nativity
This week we welcomed our families to school to watch our Nursery Christmas performance of The Noisy Nativity. It was a pleasure to watch the children singing, dancing and speaking with such confidence! They were all amazing! What a fantastic start to our Christmas festivities. Bendigedig pawb!
We are very much looking forward to our Reception to Year 2 Christmas Performances next week. Please remember your tickets! Tuesday 3rd December is sold out.
Newport Schools Christmas Cup Winners
On Wednesday of this week our Y5/6 Rugby Team took part in the Newport Schools Christmas Cup at Newport Velodrome. The team played brilliantly, winning all of their games! Amazing team work and form. Da iawn pawb! We are very proud of you!

A huge thank you to Mr Burgess for organising and taking the team to the tournament and to our parent helpers for helping us with transport.

Christmas dinner is on Wednesday 11th December. Christmas dinner must be ordered online via Parent Pay by Sunday 1st December. The children can wear their Christmas Jumpers on Christmas dinner day.
Please note: any pre-existing orders for Wednesday 11th December have been cancelled – you will need to rebook, PLEASE check Parentpay. Thank you.
Attendance
Attendance figures this year so far are as follows. Well done to Year 4 for having the highest attendance during November and so far this academic year. Our whole school attendance target for 2024/25 is 96% – we are almost achieving this!
Year Group | November Attendance (%) | 2024/25 Attendance so far… (%) |
Reception | 95.8 | 94.9 |
Year 1 | 96.4 | 96.5 |
Year 2 | 91.5 | 95.3 |
Year 3 | 93.4 | 94.4 |
Year 4 | 98.4 | 97.9 |
Year 5 | 96.9 | 95.8 |
Year 6 | 96.8 | 96.2 |
Totals | 95.6 | 95.9 |
Good attendance at school is vital if your child is to achieve their full potential. We monitor individual pupil attendance on a regular basis and will contact you if your child’s attendance dips below our target of 96%.
All holidays should be taken during the school holidays and not in term time. Any planned absence from school must be requested in writing. Such requests will be considered on an individual basis. Our ‘Absence Request Form’ can be found on our school website in the ‘Online Office‘.
It is vital that all children are in school and ready to learn by 9am. The school doors are open from 8.50am for the children to filter into classrooms and will close at 9am. The teachers start lessons promptly, as soon as the register has been called. Children arriving late are missing out on vital learning opportunities. Once again thank you for your continued support.
Charity Donations
A huge thank you to all those who gave to our recent charity donations. As a school community we raised £268 for Children in Need and £364.50 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. Thank you so much everyone!
Parking Reminder
Please, please DO NOT OBSTRUCT DRIVEWAYS, even if it means parking a little way away from school and walking your child the rest of the way. We continue to receive phone calls from local residents who are unable to leave/return to their property. Thank you.
