News Update – Friday 4th April ’25

Rugby Success

Year 5/6 played in the Nanopharm Newport 7’s Tournament on Wednesday of this week. They drew two games and won two games, but were crowned champions as they had accumulated the most points throughout the day. They were a credit to the school and played extremely well. A fantastic achievement! Da iawn!

Eid al-Fitr Celebrations

This week the children have been immersed in a variety of engaging and authentic learning experiences about Ramadan & Eid al-Fitr. During the week the children experienced activities across a variety of Areas of Learning and Experience; they developed their knowledge and understanding of the Islamic faith and enjoyed celebrating the diverse nature of our school community.

The children in Reception also held a rice crispy cake sale which raised £30 to go to the local food bank; they were learning about Ramadan and how giving to charity is important. Thank you for supporting this.

Wellbeing Ambassadors Fruit Sale

This week our Wellbeing Ambassadors organised a fruit sale. The sale was extremely successful with over 90 children buying a mixed berry fruit pot. The money raised has helped to buy a fruit trolley for subsequent sales and prizes for the DOJO Shop. Thank you to everyone who supported the children by purchasing a fruit pot. They did look delicious!

Parent Consultations

Thanks to all those parents and carers who engaged in parental consultations this week. These meetings have been invaluable in enabling teachers to discuss your child’s wellbeing and progress in learning.  We had almost 100% attendance, which is fantastic. If you have not yet had an opportunity to have a conversation with your child’s teacher, please contact school to make an appointment.

Scholastic Book Fair

We have been delighted to see so many people visiting the book fair and purchasing books to enjoy. It was so successful that this has raised over £580 for school to spend on books which will enhance our curriculum and classroom reading areas. Diolch everyone for your support.
