News Update – Friday 6th June ’25

6 Jun 2025
Y1 Visit to Fourteen Locks
Year 1 had a very exciting time visiting Fourteen Locks this week as part of their summer term enquiry project ‘How do things go and grow?’. The children engaged in a variety of learning experiences, including: a mini-beast hunt, making observational drawings, photographing wildlife and investigating floating and sinking. Thank you to all those adults who helped make the visit a success.
Sports News
This week the Year 6 girls football team went to a tournament at Gaer Primary School. They did really well – winning one game, drawing two and losing one. They finished third, narrowly missing out on the semi-finals, but their effort was tremendous. Da iawn girls!
Thank you to all the parents who have supported recent sporting events by helping with transport. Also a HUGE thank you to Mr Burgess for organising sports events for the children.
Eco-Champions to Fourteen Locks
Our Eco-Champions have been working extremely hard during this academic year to achieve their targets. This afternoon they have been doing their bit to look after the local environment, visiting Fourteen Locks to collect litter and monitor the condition of our local waterways. Fantastic! Thanks to Mrs McArdell for supporting our Eco-Champions!
School Self-Evaluation and Development Planning
During the INSET Day on Monday, both staff and governors spent time reflecting on progress towards our 2024-25 School Development Plan targets and pulling together the outcomes of school self-evaluation activities to identify our improvement priorities for 2025-26. These will be shared with parents and carers next academic year.
