Year 2 Visit to Cardiff Castle

This week Year 2 visited Cardiff Castle as part of their ‘Tales and Scales’ project. They had a tour of the castle and took part in a ‘knight’ workshop, learning all about armour and battles. They had a fantastic time! Thank you to all our parent helpers for supporting the visit.

Welsh Language Music Day

Today we have been celebrating our Welsh culture and heritage, taking part in Welsh Language Music Day. The children have been dressed in red and the sound of Welsh music and singing has been heard throughout our school. Da iawn pawb!

Wellbeing Update – Community Forum

Today, our Community Forum came together to provide valuable input into our school’s Parent and Carer Involvement Policy.  The finalised version will be available on the school website in the near future. We greatly appreciate the time and effort that parents and carers invest in attending these events. Your perspectives are key in informing our approaches.

We would love to see even more of you at our sessions! Please keep an eye out for an upcoming survey where we will be canvasing the best times and days for future forum sessions.

A huge thank you to everyone who has participated so far! We look forward to coming together next half-term.

Welsh Phrase of the Week

‘Llongyfarchiadau’ –  ‘Congratulations’ in English.

PTA Update

You will have received the recent PTA Newsletter containing information about the huge success of the PTA during the Autumn Term. With your support, the PTA has raised over £3700! A fantastic achievement. Diolch pawb!

The next PTA meeting will be held in school on Tuesday 11th February at 6pm – please do come along and get involved. Everyone is welcome!

School Uniform Reminder

As a school we take pride in our school uniform and consider it an important aspect of our school ethos and vision. We have noticed that a minority of children are wearing items of clothing and shoes that are not part of our agreed school uniform. We ask that all children wear school uniform and school shoes to school. Thank you for your continued support.

Below is a reminder of our agreed school uniform from the School Prospectus which can be found in the Online Office on our school website.

School Uniform:

Grey trousers, skirt or pinafore dress, purple sweatshirt or sweat cardigan, gold polo shirt, white or grey socks/tights and black shoes. In the summer, grey shorts and gold polo shirts or yellow/purple gingham dresses would be most welcome.

P.E. Kit:

It is also important that all children wear the correct school kit on PE days. Navy blue or black shorts and a white T-shirt and trainers for use outside. They will also need a black track-suit or joggers for wearing outside when the weather is cold.
